Attending the Vienna GNOME/.NET hackfest

7 October 2013

Today I arrived in the always wonderful city of Vienna for the GNOME/.NET Hackfest. Met up and had dinner with the other GNOME and .NET fans.

SparkleShare has been stuck on GTK+2 for a while. Now that the C# bindings for GTK+3 are starting to get ready, and Bindinator is handling any other dependencies that need updating (like WebKit), it is finally time to take the plunge.

My goal this week is to make some good progress on the following things:

  1. Port SparkleShare's user interface to GTK+3.
  2. Integrate SparkleShare seamlessly with the GNOME 3 experience

SparkleShare 1.2

Yesterday I made a new release of SparkleShare. It addresses several issues that may have been bugging you, so it's worth to upgrade. Depending on how well things go this week it may be the last release based on GNOME 2 technologies. Yay for the future!
